Levine offers private lessons, group classes, ensembles, and jam sessions for percussionists of all styles, ages and abilities. Introductory classes are offered for students new to the world of percussion, and for more experienced students looking to take their percussion studies to an advanced level, we offer a Percussion Certificate program.

Levine offers private instruction year round in 22 instruments and voice – for the beginner, lifelong amateur, or budding virtuoso. Private lessons provide students with individual instruction with one of Levine’s talented faculty members and are geared towards the specific goals, needs and aspirations of each student regardless of experience or age.

Group Classes
(All Ages)
Levine's monthly jazz jams are a great opportunity for musicians of any age and proficiency to experience jazz from the inside. In a fun and structured environment facilitated by Levine jazz faculty members, musicians will get a chance to play and improvise on a couple well-known jazz standards. In addition to facilitating the session, the Levine faculty will also provide general instruction and specific guidance where necessary.
(Ages 7-11)
The summer is a perfect time for a child to experience drumming for the first time. This week-long class will introduce older children to basic hand drumming skills, including rhythmic ear training and improvisation, in a fun and nurturing environment.

Whether you’re an accomplished musician or student, GarageBand is a rewarding way to create, perform and record your own music. Learn the interface and basic recording techniques, then move on to arranging a song, editing and mixing tracks, adding effects and distributing your music files.
(Ages 5 - 6)
In this hands-on class, students are exposed to the vast diversity of the percussive world. Simple performance and ensemble playing techniques are explored for many traditional and non-traditional percussion instruments as well as homemade instruments.

An exciting, hands-on introduction to jazz for middle and high school students this summer!
Dig into jazz and learn what it’s all about! This week-long camp is a perfect introduction for students looking towards high school jazz programs or just curious about the nature of jazz.(Adults)
This three-day workshop is designed to give amateur jazz musicians an opportunity to come and expand their jazz experience under the direction of Levine's expert jazz faculty. The workshop includes small and large group jam sessions, level-specific jazz instructional sessions, as well as an end-of-weekend concert.
(Ages 14 to Adult)
This course guides students through fundamental material about pitches, intervals, triads, seventh chords, voicing, harmonic progressions, chord substitutions and scales, including seven diatonic modes, blues scales and symmetrical scales.
(Ages 12 to Adult)
Part theory class and part ensemble, this hands-on class helps students of all instruments develop the skills needed to improvise in a variety of styles, with a special focus on jazz. Students learn how to listen to and interact with each other while improvising in groups, and explore elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, structure, and expression.
(Ages 7 - 11)
This class is an excellent way to get started with percussion and is an appropriate next step for recent graduates of Early Childhood and Elementary Music classes.
Ensemble Classes
(Ages 8-13)
Were you born to rock? At Levine, students experience what it's like to work together in a professional-style rock band in this 8-week rock n' roll experience. Whether you play guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or sing, we pair you with other like-minded musicians around the same age and ability.
(Ages 13-18)
Designed for students with at least 6 months experience on their instrument, this class gives students the opportunity to rock out by exploring popular rock 'n roll music of the past fifty years, and possibly creating their own songs, in a coached, fun environment. All instruments are welcome, and each band will typically consist of guitarists (electric and acoustic), keyboardist, vocalist, bassist, and drummer.

Do you play an instrument, sing, or write songs? Take your playing to the next level with this 8-week rock ‘n roll experience. Designed for all levels of musicians who enjoy rock, blues, jazz, and pop, you’ll be matched with other like-minded musicians in a relaxed group coaching session.

Levine’s big bands are designed for middle school and high school students who wish to study and perform jazz. Students study jazz repertoire, develop improvisation skills and build on their ability to work as a group.

This ensemble is designed for adults who enjoy making music and are reviving their musical studies. Weekly classes include a group instrumental lesson and a full band rehearsal, and the ensemble receives performance opportunities throughout the year.
