Dean's List & President's Club

The Dean’s List and President’s Club are enrichment programs designed for all students of all ages and abilities enrolled in private instruction at Levine. Students in traditional and Suzuki lesson are eligible to participate. These programs are designed to help students develop into fine, well rounded and successful musicians and provide, with your teacher's help and guidance, a goal to work towards for each semester.

The Dean’s List is entirely effort-based and the President’s Club has slightly more demanding requirements and is effort and merit-based. Both programs include a list of activities including: practice, listening, taking a jury, theory/enrichment class, concert attendance, performance, reading enrichment and a volunteer activity. Some activities are required, while others you can choose from for the semester.

Applications for both programs are available at each campus and online at the beginning of each semester. If you have any questions about the Dean’s List or President’s Club, please contact Sarah Andrew Wilson, Assistant Director of Music Education, at (202) 686-8000 x1102 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Rising Stars

The Rising Stars program at Levine is a merit-based and need-based program designed for dedicated students ages 7-17 who would like to prepare for the Honors Program. Made possible through generous support from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, the program provides students with a maximum award of a weekly 60-minute private lesson for the entire school year at no charge. Participants receive Tuition Assistance for private lessons, join a community of like-minded students, develop a strong commitment to their musical studies, and prepare to successfully apply to the Honors Program in the coming year(s).

To join the program, students must be eligible for Tuition Assistance and must receive a satisfactory recommendation from their teacher or Department Chair. Once accepted, students must attend their weekly lesson, attend a scheduled Rising Stars event, and complete the requirements of the Dean’s List or President’s Club for the entire school year.
