(Ages 8 - 13)
Based on the models offered by most of the youth orchestra programs in the US, these introductory classes help young students (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion) develop note reading and ensemble skills. Course materials and music will be determined by the instrumentation of the class. The young musicians study a wide variety of musical styles from classical to jazz, prepare three concert programs throughout the year, and repeat each program in two performances: one in the Lang Recital Hall at Levine’s NWDC Campus, and the second at Levine’s Maryland Campus at Strathmore.
