(Ages 14 - 18)
Designed to help serious music students deepen their knowledge of structure and repertory, this course includes sightsinging, ear training, study of chords, four-part writing, and other traditional theory. Students also compose pieces in historical styles.
The syllabus of the instructor of this course has been authorized by the College Board. Students have permission to use the “AP” designation on their transcripts sent with college applications only for courses whose syllabus has been authorized by the College Board and grants. This is a graded course and students may be able to obtain high school credit or college credit based on their performance in this course.
Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor is required. AP Music Theory Placement tests are given during the Fall and Spring semesters at the NWDC Campus.
