Event Details

For those interested in learning more about orchestral music and composers, the Levine School of Music offers enrichment classes to complement Baltimore Symphony Orchestra concerts held at The Music Center at Strathmore.

These courses, taught by Jason McCool, Levine faculty lecturer, are in-depth explorations of with discussions that delve into the historical context of the repertoire and the composers prior to the BSO performance.

This meeting will discuss:

Trpceski Plays Rachmaninoff

Prior to the BSO performance featuring:

Dima Slobodeniouk (BSO debut), conductor
Simon Trpceski, piano

Rachmaninoff -  The Rock 
Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto No. 4
Shostokovich - Symphony No. 11

Classes meet at 7:00 pm in Room 309 at Strathmore and are followed by a performance by the BSO at 8:00 pm. Tickets to the BSO performance must be purchased seperately.

You must register by 5:00 pm on the Friday before the lecture to reserve seats.  All reserved seats will be held until 6:50 pm the evening of the lecture.  At 6:50 pm all reserved seats will be released as general admission seating.
