Early Childhood and Elementary Music
Music makes my world go around. Playing, listening, singing, dancing, teaching piano, making music with children in ECEM classes—all these illuminate my life. I enjoy building the foundation of music reading with students of every age, and especially the youngest, through games, songs, movement, and stories. Singing with children is one of my joys. It is exciting to hear the melody emerge as they gain familiarity and confidence with a new song.
I’ve loved the stimulation of teaching in the Levine music camp as well. The pleasure of working with Levine colleagues is a large part of the camp experience. It’s exhilarating to see what children can accomplish when music is a part of their lives every day for three weeks!
